The die has been cast

The weather is perfect - its pouring with rain, and theres not much to do in office, where the Internet  and electricity have walked out on us. No time like the present for a cup of coffee, watching the rain outside. Perfect !!!

Well, almost perfect...since I saw a very disturbing scene unfolding in the building in front of my office. Take a look at this pic with the old man in blue on the stairs and the dog in front of the gate below. Its not  very clear due to the rain .

Looks like any regular pic right??

Wrong....

While I watched in disbelief,  this man dragged the dog out of the house in the heavy rain and tied it to the gate and left it there...he then goes back upstairs and stands watching it get soaked....through its pitiful whines which were getting louder than life by the minute for all to hear....

For a few minutes, I thought I had imagined this...I HAD to have...there surely was some other explanation? ...no one could bring themselves to do something like this right???

Wrong again....

The man studiously and steadfastly continued to watch the dog suffer, glancing surreptitiously around once in a while to see if anyone was looking.....and no amount of my indignant waving could get his attention...So,  my boss Shreyas and I started calling out to him but our shouts were drowned in the rain...

We finally we managed to get his attention...upon which, he suddenly  sprang to life, took one horrified look at his dog and proceeded to fall over himself to put it out of its misery....Oh HOW I wish I had been able to video this....would've most certainly made it to the Oscars for the brilliant acting with no questions asked (among other things!!!)...

For once in my life, I am at a loss for words...I am unable to formulate  any sentences to express  the hideousness we witnessed....

Ah well, as the title says.....alea iacta est...the die has been cast....for the highway to Hell!!!

Then its good ..... Le t the old man be secured in peace.. there in the hell......

I am disturbed that he is not a boy... but an old man.... Let him come back again to mend himself... now its too late to correct himself no....

My query is why din’t you people make an effort to actually go by yourselves and try to stop the cruel act, may be you did or the office timings din’t permit or the RAIN….something must have stopped you guys, atleast you shud have called blue cross society. Another thing that is bothering……after the rain stopped, the following day, did you go by yourself and ask that old uncle what made him do so?? …. Well, taking a snap and pondering about what has had happened is surely a nice way for discussion but what is this discussion landing upto ??... few frowns and curses for that old man, some blessings to that doggy !! … When we realize why he did so then we’ll get the underlying facts…else it’ll remain buried intact. The lesson to be learnt is silent observation is good, provides us an assurance to get some quiet evidence to hold a person responsible for such an act that is inhuman, we need to even know from the person too as the doggy cannot speak for itself, the man can !!!

well,I actually called CUPA and filed a complaint against the guy and they had said they would rescue the dog from that house.. but yes,I should follow it up & see if they actualy did so.
